The study cycle has the specific purpose of ensuring that students acquire a solid scientific, technical, human and cultural background that, at the end of the cycle, will enable them to:
» Intervene at local, regional, national and international level
» Provide and manage general nursing care at the three levels of health prevention, centred on the individual throughout the life cycle, on the family, on groups and communities
» Participate in the management of health services, units or establishments
» Participate in the training of nurses and other health professionals
» Use the results of scientific research in the field of nursing, in particular, and health, in general |
Nursing professional with skills to:
- Provide general nursing care in different domains: professional, ethical and legal practice; management and provision of care; professional development
- Be able to take responsibility for one's learning
- Possess a complete mastery of one¿s first language, demonstrate skills in writing and structured synthesis, excellent writing capacities, ease in producing reports and formal establishment of written or oral communication
- Have the ability to transmit and disseminate ideas and diplomacy and resourcefulness in social relations
- Have some command of foreign languages, with good verbal and written expression skills and the ability to interact
- Possess knowledge of the structures and systems that support health and nursing care
- Have the ability to analyze situations and seek solutions to identified problems, skills to interpret vital and analytical parameters, and the capacity to calculate the preparation of different types of medication
- Be able to construct graphs and create summary diagrammes and organizational charts
- Possess ability concerning spaces, cultures and equipment, as well as mastery of numerical calculation tools, text production, creation and production of images, databases and social networks
- Be able to apply the method of working in teams, individually and as responsible nurses; to lead work teams and produce plans/programmes for the three levels of prevention
- Competence in planning and organizing technical-scientific events, autonomy in handling materials and equipment, self-control, ability to resist stress and pressure
